Peer Review Process
Peer Review Process
Journal of Communication (JoC) uses Open Journal Systems (OJS) for manuscript submission, review, and editorial management.
Journal of Communication (JoC) implements a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and relevance of the manuscripts published in the journal. All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process.
In the double-blind review system, the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed to ensure an objective and unbiased evaluation.
The peer review process in Journal of Communication (JoC) generally follows these stages:
-
Initial Editorial Screening
The editorial team conducts an initial screening to evaluate whether the manuscript fits the scope of the journal and complies with the author guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements may be returned to the authors or rejected before entering the review stage. -
Plagiarism Check
All manuscripts are checked for similarity using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with high levels of similarity or plagiarism will be rejected. -
Double-Blind Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening will be sent to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, and contribution to the field of communication studies. -

Accept Submission
-
Revisions Required
-
Resubmit for Review
-
Decline Submission
-
-
Revision by Authors
Authors are required to revise the manuscript according to the reviewers’ comments and suggestions. The revised manuscript may be sent back to reviewers for further evaluation if necessary. -
Final Decision

The average review process in Journal of Communication (JoC) takes approximately 4–8 weeks, depending on the responsiveness of reviewers and authors during the revision process.
