Author Guidelines
Authors who wish to submit manuscripts to the Journal of Communication (JoC) must follow the guidelines below. The journal publishes original research articles, conceptual papers, and literature reviews that contribute to the development of communication studies.
1. Scope of Manuscripts
Manuscripts submitted to Journal of Communication (JoC) must fall within the scope of communication studies, including but not limited to:

2. Originality of Manuscripts
Manuscripts submitted to Journal of Communication (JoC) must be original works that have not been previously published and are not currently under consideration for publication in other journals. Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are free from plagiarism and properly cite all referenced sources.
3. Language
Manuscripts may be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia using clear academic language. Authors are encouraged to ensure that their manuscripts have been carefully proofread before submission.
4. Manuscript Structure
Manuscripts submitted to Journal of Communication (JoC) must follow the structure provided in the journal template:
Title
The title should clearly reflect the content of the article and be concise.
Author Information
Include the author's full name, institutional affiliation, and email address.
Abstract (English)
The abstract should consist of 150–250 words summarizing the research objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
Keywords
Provide 3–5 keywords arranged in alphabetical order.
Abstrak (Bahasa Indonesia)
The Indonesian abstract should contain the same content as the English abstract.
Kata Kunci
Provide Indonesian keywords.
Article History
Include information on received date, revised date, accepted date, and published date.
Introduction (Pendahuluan)
This section explains the background of the research, research problem, objectives, and relevant literature.
Research Method (Metode Penelitian)
This section explains the research design, data collection techniques, sampling method, and data analysis procedures.
Results and Discussion (Hasil dan Pembahasan)
This section presents the research findings and discusses them in relation to relevant theories or previous studies.
Conclusion (Kesimpulan)
This section summarizes the main findings and contributions of the research.
Suggestion (Saran)
This section provides recommendations or implications for future research.
References (Daftar Pustaka)
All cited sources must be listed in the references section.
5. Manuscript Formatting
Manuscripts must be prepared using the official Journal of Communication (JoC) article template with the following formatting:

Manuscript length: 3,000–5,000 words (approximately 10–15 pages)
Authors must use the official JoC template when preparing manuscripts.
6. Citation and References
Journal of Communication (JoC) uses the APA (American Psychological Association) citation style. Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote to ensure citation consistency.
References should primarily come from scholarly sources such as journal articles, books, and conference proceedings. It is recommended that most references are published within the last 10 years.
7. Plagiarism Policy
All manuscripts submitted to Journal of Communication (JoC) will be checked using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with significant similarity or plagiarism will be rejected.
8. Submission Process
Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system via Open Journal Systems (OJS). Authors must register as an author in the journal system before submitting their manuscripts.
9. Peer Review Process
All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process, where the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed. Each manuscript will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers based on originality, methodological rigor, and contribution to the field of communication studies.
10. Copyright and License
Authors who publish in Journal of Communication (JoC) agree that their articles will be distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA 4.0) license.
11. Publication Frequency
Journal of Communication (JoC) is published twice a year, in June and December.
