Peran Pemerintah terhadap Lingkungan Hidup dalam Pengelolaan Sampah di Kota Manado

Abstract

This research aims to explain and describe the problems caused by the growning waste population that has an impact waste  population that has an impact on the environment and explain how thr role of the Government in overcoming  waste problems in Manado City by implementing the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. The Method used in this study is Literature Reviev, this method is a way used to colled data or sources related to a particular topic that can be obtained from various sources such as journals, books, the internet, and other libraries. Population growth and changes in consumption patterns lead to an increase in the volume, types and characteristics of increasingly diverse waste. This issue refers to garbage shelter or TPA (Tempat Pembuangan Akhir). Which is no longer suitable for waste management activities at the TPA Sumompo.  The second problem is waste management at the Sumompo TPA still uses open dumping. So it is necessary to expand the TPA area and add new heavy aquipment. To overcome this problem, the role of the government is needed. Waste management in Manado City is carried out based on Manado City Regional Regulation Number 7 of 2006 concerning waste management in Manado City and Manado Mayor regulation Number 33 of 2018 concerning Subdistrict-based waste Reduction and Handling in Mando City.
